The third edition of Villa Medici's Nuit Blanche festival, VILLA PAZZA examines the institution and residency from a transhistorical perspective, with works, projects and presentations by Sasha J. Blondeau, Miguel Bonnefoy, Rebecca Digne, Frederika Amalia Finkelstein, Gaëlle Gabillet and Stéphane Villard (Studio GGSV), Hélène Giannecchini, Lola Gonzàlez, François Hébert, Pauline Lafille, Thomas Lévy-Lasne, Mathieu Lucas, Léonard Martin, Lili Reynaud-Dewar, and Riccardo Venturi. Villa Medici is approached as a space-time of intensive activity for the residents, who form a temporary, situated community. Feminist and queer activism, environmental conservation and unconventional narratives all feature prominently in this year's edition of the Nuit Blanche festival. Set out as a journey through the indoor and outdoor spaces of Villa Medici, VILLA PAZZA overturns the distinction between works of art and work processes, showcasing various stages of the research cycle. The programme includes lectures, readings, video screenings, a drawing studio, a site-specific sculpture, an installation, an ephemeral pavilion, a sound piece and a participatory performance.
